I was just inspecting my Polaris Outlaw and kept hearing a squeeking sound from both front tires. I took of the rims and noticed my disc brake pads are very tight on the roter without the break applied. I checked my fluid and its good. Is there any adjustment for backing down the tension on the pads. If i spin the front tires with the machine jacked up, i cannot get one full revolution.
Any advice would be helpful.

I got my front brakes fixed. The posts on the caliper that hold the pads were very dirty. I took off the caliper and cleaned them up with soapy water and a toothbrush. They now have a little wiggle room. The squeek is gone and the tires spin free and easy when the front is off the ground. Should i put grease on the posts or is there danger it could work into the pads. It seems to me those posts should be lubricated to keep them moving them smoothly?

There is a special brake caliper grease that can be bought at any auto store in these little tear open packets. One packet will do a lot of brake pins. What I do is clean the pins with the wire brush wheel on my grinder then put a very thin coat on the pins and re-install. I have never used general grease for this job but it might work okay. Just use a very slight amount.

Pretty much the only time a track is any better in the afternoon is if it is muddy or there is muddy spots. It is already all rutted and nasty, but atleast the mud is tacked up. Otherwise it is always hotter in the afternoon and the track is pretty chewed up and just gets gnarlier as the day goes on. But it makes you a much better rider and makes you faster running with faster people.
Although it is nice not being rushed in the morning to get ready and race, I do get more nervous and ansy waiting to race watching the morning session. Another thing I don't like is, say at Spraugeville how it was so dusty. By the time you get geared up you already feel nasty and have been sweating your butt off. About the time we are ready to start, I'm due for lunch and a nap. lol
