Black River Falls
Thge Black River State forest and the Jackson County Forest trail system consist of over 100 miles of trails. One can go from Millston north to Lake Arbutus at Hatfield and from Black River falls east to Prey. This is a nice trail system that does get groomed on occasion. Take interstate highway 94 towards black River falls.There is a trailhead located on Highway"O". Get off Rt 94 at Highway "O", turn right, the trail access is on the left hand side a few miles up the road. Watch for the signs. There is also a trail head in Black River Falls. Exit Rt 94 at Rt 54, Turn right. The trail head is on airport rd. Food and gas are available from the trail in Black River Falls and in Millston. Lodging is available in Black River Falls, Millston, Crawford Hills Campground, and East Arbutus Campground. Trails are open from May 15 to October 15, and then again December 15 to March 15.
Oconto County
The Oconto county trail system has over 100 miles of ATV ONLY trails. From Chicago, take highway 94/41 north into Milwaukee. Continue north on Rt 43 out of Milwaukee and into Green Bay. Continue north out of Green Bay on Rt 141. Continue north on Rt 141 untill you get to Rt 64. Head west on Rt 64 for about 15 miles. The trail head is located on "something"horst rd. There is no gas available on the trail system. Food is available on the trail at the "Wheel Inn". This is a very nice trail system. Well marked. It has a "Play Area" with some jumps , whoops, and at times some mud holes for the 4X4 s. Most of the trails are through the woods. They twist and wind up and down some very nice terrain. Trails close Oct 28.
Clark County
Clark County offers over 150 mile of trail system that wind and loop through 133,000 acres of the Clark County Forest. Trails are closed from March 15 to May 15 and during shooting hours of GUN deer season.
Bong Recreation Area
Bong Rec is located on Rt 142 about 1 1/2 miles west of Rt 75 in Burlington Wisc. The State park has 3 "Special use Zones" that are used for ATVs and other events. Each zone has an atv trail about 3 miles in length. They each inter connect for a total of about 10 miles of trail. Trails are FLAT with no hills or jumps. This is a great place for a beginner and little kids to learn to ride. They even have a fenced in short track for the Wee People where mom and dad can keep a close eye on the youngsters. Some or all zones may be closed to ATVs during special events or after heavy rains. ALWAYS call ahead and check your schedule (available when you check in). Access to the special use zones costs 8 bucks a day, or you can buy a season pass for $25.00. Trails close at 11:00 at night.
The Cheese Country Trail

Miles of fun-filled four wheeling can be found in Southwest Wisconsin. The Cheese Country Recreational Trail boasts 47 miles of improved, abandoned railroad grade extending from Mineral Point in Iowa County, to Darlington in Lafayette County, on to Monroe in Green County. The trail surface consists of mainly flat, dry, level riding, following the former Milwaukee Railroad grade that runs parallel with the picturesque Pectonica River. The trail is appropriately named after the approximately 30 cheese factories in Lafayette, Green and Iowa counties, producing large quantities of cheeses such as Swiss, Muenster and Limburger.
The Pecatonica Trail
affords approximately 15 miles of shared used trail along an abandoned railroad grade from Calamine, where it connects with the Cheese Country Trail, running west to Belmont and the Lafayette County line near Platteville. This trail is open April 1 through November 15.
ATV fun can be found on the stretch of trail in the Blanchardville, Holldale, Darlington, and Gratiot areas. This trail connects with the Cheese Country Trail south of Calamine and again just north of Darlington.
From April 1 through November 15 when the Cheese Country Trail is open, riders can enjoy the journey.
