Here is a pic of my Honda 450R shocks after being built by Mark Meyers the Quad City Quad Doctor and the GT Thunder rear XC Link. In the picture the bottom link is the stock Honda. You can clearly see the difference between the two. Mark has been to two classes put on by Laz Sommers, the owner of GT Thunder. The shock work that Mark does is the same product you would get with sending out your shocks to GTT. Mark set these up to work well for me. I rode with them for the first time today and they made a very impressive difference. 4"- 6" bumps were barely noticible and it cornered very well with very little body roll. I will mess with some of the settings later on. This shock work changes the internal valving to match your weight and riding style and the springs are also changed to match that. There is some machining done to the shock body to increase the total travel of the shocks. This quad has over 10" of travel front and rear now. Mark can be reached at www.qcquaddoctor.com

What does something like that cost. Can he modify my stock 400EX shocks or would it benifite me to try and find a deal on a set of 450r shocks to swap out. If so does anybody know where I can score a set?

Its best to talk price with Mark at QCQD. Nothing can be done on the front shocks of an EX but the rear can be reworked including the rear link replaced. Ebay or www.xcbob.com are two good places to buy stock 450R take-offs. Mark could maybe hook you up there too.
