cpward, here is a link to a thread that I started this past spring that has some good sport quad tire opinions in it that is very similar to your question. tworiversatv.proboards41.com/index.cgi?board=Maintenance&action=display&thread=1178467570Its tough for me to cast a vote because I honestly cant tell you which of those two I would choose. Plus I've never had either of them, but those are the 2 that I cant decide which would be better and I think either one would be a great choice. I'm sure you'll be given a wealth of opinions and knowledge to help you decide. Good Luck.

Definitely maxxis razorll's. I have owned both and believe for all types of terrain the razors met all my needs. Great in mud, great on hills, and allow enough slide on the track! Just one mans opinion.

I too run the Razr 2's, but I would recommend the plain ole regular Razr's. They are cheaper and not as thick as the others, but a very good tire! I plan to switch to those after I get all the goodie out of mine.

I ride on the ITP holeshots XC on the rear and the GNCC's on the front. I have been very happy with the way the tires handle everything thats been thrown at them. Been on the Cat for 9 races and are still in good shape. That's my Nickels worth of opinion and I could be wrong. Till later Fastcat1 Out.

Fastcat's combo is the only holeshots I would go with. I run Maxxis RazrII's up front and Razr originals on the back. They are great tires that you will get a lot of miles out of. I have used RazrII's for the rear and they are better for rutted muddy terrain but do not slide very well until worn in considerably.
Regardless of what you buy make sure its a 6 ply tire. If you buy locally ask them to match or get close to mail order prices. Parts Unlimited MSRP is outragous.

I like Weck's combo best. (Razr2 on front/Original Razr on rear) I went with all original Razr's for mine though as the Razr2's weigh more and with only 250cc's to use, I wanted to keep weight down. (I saved 9 lbs. on the rears alone) I did get 6 ply for all 4 tires though, that is important for all the tree stumps, etc that we tend to ride on. I think Holeshots would work just as well as Razrs, just keep ply and weight in mind! The tire mod has made a huge difference for me too! I can plow through SO MUCH more now....it was a big surprise!

In order of choice:
#1: Turf Tamer rear, Holeshot fronts. why: price, unbelievable traction (by the look of them, you'd never think it), ablilty to custom cut knobs for unique traction & looks, only tires I've ever owned that could "squeal" when tearing it up in the hardpack - cool, they just do everything right.
#2: Holeshot XCT's why: ground clearance & excellent traction.
#3: Off-brand RAZR2 copies. why: Maxxis is way overpriced, Razr2's look cool, good traction.
I put a set of "RAZR2 copies" on the wife's 250EX. I'd have put on Turf tamers, but it was her quad & she liked the looks of the RAZR2 copies. It does look mean with the Razr2's & PRM bumpers!!! She was injured that day, so I took her quad to 4th place in the Popecreek Fun Run. Traction was good through the entire course, but power was a little less than I wanted at times...
If trying out a "new" or different tire it'd be one of the "Holeshot" XC's or another ITP Holeshot (radial???) model. I trail ride so I recomend a 20"-22" rear. 21" is the ultimate compromise of clearance & traction but selection is small.

Like QDOC said I run Holeshot fronts, and TurfTamers on the back! I love them and the Turf Tamers do great!
