I dropped from a 14 tooth to a 13 tooth front sproket just recently and Ft. Madison was the first time I've had it out since the change.
That coupled with stock tires probably didnt help my traction any.
Thanks for the advice everyone!

I love my new rubber and will soon have them on the front too!! Just to make good on something I said back then......I now have the original Razr's on the front of the TBlazer too....in 6 ply of course. The Mud Prom will be my first real test of the difference in steering and traction. I am very anxious to feel the difference. Xman, did you put any new rubber on your ZZZZzzzzzzzzz ? I'd hate to have to stop at the top of every hill in Solon to help pull your Suzy up the rest of the way. ;D hahaha

A few of my close friends run HD's all around and love them. Once you get some ride time on them post a thread in the review section on what you think. Lots of people on here have asked for peoples opinions on the HD's, myself included!

I am thinking of going with the kenda claws anybody have any experience with these tires. I'm going with 23x7x10 up front and 22x11x9 (for the extra ground clearance) in the rear and changing my front sprocket to a 12 tooth to help with the gear ratio change from the bigger tires.
I've also found that rocky mountain atv has the best prices around with free shipping over $100 purchase. the WHOLE SET is going to be under $220. They also have alot of aftermarket parts with the best prices.
Also does anybody run a twist throttle kit for the trail? Is it worth it or should it be a track only mod.

Hi Exfan! I have 22" 6ply holeshots on my Suzuki and love them. They did add alot of weight to the quad, but the ground clearance is great! I did end up changing the front sprocket too.

Those rear 22's really seem to help out Shezuki in alot of the parks we ride at. Since they are ATV parks deep ruts and getting high sided is something you always have to compensate for. Shezuki and I both have Z400, but I'm still running the stock 20's on mine and there have been alot of places I get hung up and she just buzzes right through. But I do love that quicker zip my 20's offer.
I personally dont know anyone in the club who runs a twist throttle on their sport, I think its largely due to the fact that quads dont soak up the terrain as well as a dirt bike and its harder to keep a steady throttle motion when hitting some rough stuff at a higer speed. I personally wouldnt run a twist on a quad but I think its all personal preference, maybe some of the more hardcore racers on here can give you some added beneficial advice!

exfan,
Screamindemon, with the 350 Warrior has (or soon will) have a twist throttle on his quad. He's new to riding quads but has years experience riding motorcycles so he thought he would like a twist throttle. He's the only person I know of with a twist throttle on a quad, hopefully he will let us know how that works for him.

Twist throttle kits on quads tend to give you arm pump alot faster than thumb throttle's, if you are use to it, you may like it. Being quads handle alot rougher than bikes, you may experience a jolt running over something causing your shoulder to drop, and hit the twist throttle on accident causing you to may run in to something or get hurt. Just my opinion. I run a thumb throttle on my mx quad.

I think i'm going to stick with the thumb throttle for now and put the money towards something else. thanks everybody.
By the way my 4 wheeler will be fixed by this weekend with a trailtech big bar adapter and a set of tusk longhorn bars. The trailtech mount is so I can put on a trailtech Vapor computer hopefully I can scrounge up the money for that this week too. should have picture up Soon.

Best all around tires I have ran are maxxis All-traks!!!! I have ran holeshots, kenda klaws, maxxis Sur-traks, Titan 489s, Dirt devils, but I love the all traks. they hook like crazy. Everything else on my 800 just spins. i have not ran Razr2s though, they would be my next choise, but much more $$
The Maxxis are only 2 ply, but I have not cut or punctured one yet, and I have cut plenty of 4 and 6 ply tires....
For the guy thinking of running the Bear klaws, I would not run them on the front unless I had a 4X4. traction tire is not the best for a 2x4, the lugs that help with 4X4 traction will reduce the steering control on the 2x4s and sport quads. I like Kenda Klaws for a front tire.
