Dangggg, I had no idea so many people could do wheelies!!! I must say that I am not using my own quad for everybody to take a shot at an auto wheelie. I only wanted a "wheelie guy" to try it out and see if a newbie could use it to learn the trick. I am NOT out to see if any wheelie guy can pull my auto up too. Sorry all you thrill-seekers but I have seen what a failed wheelie attempt does to the ride. I am just banking on UBN to find out everything he needs without dumping my ride. Ain't that right UBN?!?!?! Please be gentle kind sir. Lastly, Thanks for the extra info ZRacer! I can't believe the amount of good, solid advise this club has to offer....it makes me feel rather lucky to have looked into joining. As far as reed valves, I was told the TBlazer doesn't use them like many quads. (This came from the same mechanic that jetted it mind you). I didn't see them in the shop manual either so I don't believe there are used in it. I don't know what type of set-up the carb uses to regulate the mixture input without reeds, so I will read that chapter further. I was familiar with the reed upgrade though as I put a set of Boysen reeds in my boys LT80 (it was a b_tch). I also gave him a FMF fatty pipe with power core silencer, different sprockets and chain w/tensioner, UNI filter and some wheel spacers. hahaha I have been using his quad to learn about them as he doesn't know any better as long as it runs when he gets there. Of course, he can pull wheelies now....but he doesn't mean to. See you ALL tomorrow morning!!!!!!!

I am just banking on UBN to find out everything he needs without dumping my ride. Ain't that right UBN?!?!?! Please be gentle kind sir. Boy, oh Boy! ;D This is gonna be fun! You are right! I did a little research and found that the Trail Blazer does NOT have a reed cage or reed valve. It is has to do with the port timing. That can be explained at a later date.

Well......Ubnpast AND Weck took the TBlazer into 2-wheel status today. They did it quite easily and without hurting my baby at all. It was pretty cool. Later in the ride, I did try to do it and was able to get the front up a bit for a nanosecond. :> I will be working on my new trick and showing improvement soon. Thanks for the help and pointers guys. Also, Mojave.....you weren't kidding either, you spent more time on 2 wheels than anyone else. Talk about making me look like a beginner!! hahahaha

The Trailblazer motor uses the piston (piston-port) as the reed valves. When the piston goes down, the fuel mixture comes in & scavanges the burnt mixture out. As the piston rises it seals off the Intake & exhaust ports & compresses the new mixture for ignition! This design yields less overall power compared to a Reed equipped motor, but makes for fewer moving parts.
The clutch kit was probably your best power improvement. As for pipe or tires, it's all about getting the power to the ground for maximum forward acceleration so it's a toss-up...
I don't work for beer, but would be happy to help you get your T-Blazer set up w/ pipes, tires, or whatever your heart desires.

I did try to do it and was able to get the front up a bit for a nanosecond. You sure that was'nt a picosecond? Glad you had a good time on the ride. As far as the parks it only gets better from here.

QDoc, I like the idea of fewer moving parts so I like my TB even more now! Unfortunately, it sounds like my Quad engine uses the exact same method of firing/compression as the Honda 50 moped I had in high school. As well as the same method as my lawn mower. See Ubnpast...I was a Honda owner too! Plus we have the Honda Pilot SUV now. QDoc, I am buying a HotSeat pipe/silencer combo right off their website (no sparky though) so if you can give me a better deal than the site, please let me know right away!! I'm going to wait on the tires/rims til I wear off the stock ones. Mr. Weck.....I will have you know that I definitely held my first wheelie longer than a picosecond!!! Using the basic laws of physics, in order for my front tires to break away from the mighty pull of gravity to the height that was indicated by the witness (thanks Sheraptor), and then descend back to Mother Earth in direct relation to the mass of the falling front end........it would have taken AT LEAST a NANOsecond to transpire!!!! It was a masterful demonstration of absolute novice ability. ......and I think Ubnpast almost wet himself laughing at me..... Take care.

Since I can't make Solon, it has been wheelie-practice today. With the rear rack installed (doesn't look too AG I think), I can do the "newbie method" much easier (foot back on rack). I am getting more lift and more confidence so it is coming along. Shouldn't be long before I bust something!!!!! hahahaha

WOW! somehow I missed this entire thread from start to now, and just spent the last 20 minutes catching up! Any advice I may have had to help seems to have been covered or shown already so I wont bother with repeat info. Somewhere in all this was a compliment on my wheelie skills and I thank you for that. I am far from having the wheelie mastered but like to consider myself more than adequet at them. Sorry I wasnt there to give the Tblazer a test of my own, sounds like it was a hoot. He is without a computer and the internet, otherwise I would have refered you to the infamous Nate Smith for wheelie advice, I dont call him crazy wheelie man for nothing. There is no quad he is unable to ride a wheelie like he's owned it all his life. Watching him ride wheelies on a 1985 ATC 70 seems like he should be wearing a bear suit with ballons tied to the grab bar and circus music playing. At Little Sahara sand dunes in Oklahoma I watched him ride a wheelie UP the side of an 80 foot sand dune. Plus he managed to keep the front up riding through about 100 yards of sand whoops. I like to think of him as the master and I as the apprentice. UBNpast aint to shabby either though Anyway good luck on the continued wheelie practice. And be careful, getting your foot caught between the ground and a moving quad never feels good.

i have also learned in my time that some quads (like mine and waitforme's) are almost impossible to ride a wheelie sitting down without "popping" the clutch.. i can only pull a small wheelie by really pulling the front end up.. ubnpast's big boy honda there has all that power to pull wheelies probally through all the gears, espically since sheraptor is riding double....

HEY WECKKKKKK!! I ordered the HSP exhaust so I will be bugging you soon! (I also snagged a new set of dual-compound grips w/glue). I can get the exhaust installed before you help me tune it in, but would like alittle help with the grip thing. I don't want to destroy the old ones or put the new ones on poorly. I'll let you know more soon. Thanks and take care. ;D
