I did have a thread here that asked about rebuilding a Fox shock, but it kept getting hijacked by some machine language snafu. Now that I have some new info, I will bring this thread back and hope the computer gremlins stay away! I had originally bought a Fox dual-rate shock with rezzie off Ebay that came off a Scrambler. The 2001+ Scramblers have the same shock size as the TBlazers, but the TBlazer only comes with a generic factory one. I had Jerry Jackson rebuild the Fox shock completely and picked it up today! ;D The rebuild took a couple months but Jerry had some serious trouble tracking down a new shaft for it. It is longer than anything he can order as a single part, so he had to find a new way to get it and he did. It is like brand new and ready to be installed!! Hopefully I will get it on this week so I can adjust it for optimum ride. I can't wait to feel the difference compared to the overly soft factory shock.

Well if you lost 1 lb in weight that should equal out to 1 HP just there alone. Better Suspension travel is worth at least 3 HP!!!

First, to answer the previous questions: Grizz; No, the shock itself will not increase the HP of the TBlazer, BUT if you can improve the way the tires react to the terrain, you will maintain power better, thus improving performance and speed. Part 2: I already have TOO MUCH invested in the TBlazer!!!!! That is the way of the "GUY". We spend more keeping something than it would cost to replace it. Mojo; If your calculations are accurate, then my TBlazer gains 1 or 2 HP every morning......as I lose 1 or 2 pounds at that time. Part 2: I like the idea of gaining 3 HP for a better suspension!!! That means this rear shock will DOUBLE my power!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.......that was a joke Xman, so ZIP IT! Ok, now for the purpose of this update. The new Foxxie Shoxxie is installed and ready to roll. I will use Osky as a testing ground and adjust as needed. It looks reallllllllllllllllll good, but I need some bumps to really feel the difference.

How much is this experiment costing you. If JJ had to locate a new shaft I am guessing you are over $150.

/\ Not a bad guess Weckinator!!! The total cost was $126. Considering I only paid $60 for the original shock, I have less than $200 invested in it....and can keep it when I move to a Scrambler 500. Or, I could sell the TBlazer's factory shock for around $100, and only have about $85 invested in a much better Fox rear suspension. Either way, it's a good deal considering what higher-end shocks cost. When I picked up the shock at Jerry's, he asked what I paid for it. I told him $60 and he gave me a shocked look. I thought I had did something stupid.......until he said a new one would of ran me about $400-600 !!! That made me feel pretty good!!! ;D
