I think I will be there. Should be interesting for sure. Not sure about getting across the creek and some of the hills could be pretty tough when frozen.

Just to entertain my "child inside", what are the rules for this type of event? I noticed any type of quad is allowable.....but can you use 4 wheel-drive if equipped? Do you need any memberships to any race organization? Do you have to have a tether kill or any other non-standard quad accessory? Is it a fun-type event where some newbie won't just be pissin' everyone off that wants to get by?

All you need is a shell for your melon. No tether, no AMA. Any type of quad is fine. 4x4 is not always an advantage, just ask Joel Ballenger.
Run what ya brung!!!
NO You can't have a hug, You might have better luck with UBN or EX though...

I would love to watch the race!! But until I get a rearview mirror installed, I guess I won't be able to. I'm in there like swimwear!!

Heck, if all these members are going to race, I am getting jealous. Who cares if I can't finish first, it's the thrill I need! I am going to start working the homefront schedule so I can pop my "race cherry". hahahaha Xman.......you better be showing up too!!! Heck, let's make it a huge club event, come on all you fellow newbies!!! Ladies, you too!! You can't ask for more lenient rules right?! Sounds like the best way for Mother/Mojo to find the best 2 out of 3 winner also. Just so everyone knows in advance.....if I can make the race, and I come in dead last......I will start crying.

Majaveleclaire, I heard mothership will be at the race. You know she placed in the top ten at a race there before.............but that wasn't in the snow and ice.

I mentioned entering this race at home and it seemed to go over fine. Sounds like more people are going everyday, that is SO COOL! I don't expect you to cut me any slack Shezuki, but I will try to keep up with you all. hahaha Since Mothership knows the track and drives similiar power, she could be my pace/guide quad.....until the end where I would make my move. Will everyone who plans on entering please say if they are going to enter with studded tires or non-studded? There is a winner for both classes right? Thanks.

My quad will be studded, but not sure about my tires. I'm sure I'll just stick to my non studded tires so when I beat Weck he won't blame it all on the studs. ;D

Piglet, I don't know if you were able to make the meeting last week so I'll pass along the info that was brought up there. The Pope Creek Race will be mostly lowland paths as they don't want the hill-climbing problems experienced at Coal Valley. It is supposed to include frozen creek runs integrated into it. They summarized the race as more of a fast-paced open track than hard, tight hilly paths. I liked the sound of that much better. The race will be exactly 45 minutes long. At 45 minutes, the leader and all following will be shut down as they cross. There isn't a specific number of laps, just have more than anyone else when 45 minutes expires. I plan to have more than somebody....anybody.....even if it's a 12 year-old on a 70cc!! That's my entire race plan in a bucket. I might be making some custom "spinner caps" for my rims that stick out and have sharp points, so anyone passing will regret it. The rules are rather loose right?!
