Anybody out there have some thoughts on the 06 Racing season that is winding down?
Joe Byrd won the GNC MX National series, with almost 40yr old Doug Gust in a close second.
Doug Gust beat Dustin Wimmer in the first year of the WPSA series, but it came down to the last race. This entire series was televised on ESPN2.
Suzuki has signed Wimmer for the 07 / 08 season. He is 20 years old, Gust will be 40 soon. Interesting combination don't ya think.
Bill Ballance has locked up his 7th consecutive GNCC Cross-Country title, with two races to go. Before that Barry Hawk, who now races GNCC Dirtbikes, won it 7 straight before Bill's streak. That's just two guys in the last 14 years that have won the series. I would like to know if there are any similar streaks in all of motorsports racing.
Daryl Rath won the Utility division of the World Power Sports Association series on an Arctic Cat 4x4. Daryl has won ATV titles in many different forms of racing, now that is talent.
What do you think about the 06 season?

I will openly admit that I have not kept up with the 06 racing season very well. But your recap would make great cliff notes if there were a test.
With Gust being twice as old as Wimmer (WOW) I wonder how much longer Gust will keep at it. I will say though that that is some serious born with it talent. Some are just superior at certain things and excel at a rate most could only dream of. And I think Gust and ATV racing is just that.
Speaking of streaks, the number evades me at the moment but how many straight championships did Jeremy McGrath win before he was dethroned by Carmichael, who now seems to have been dethroned by Stewart.
And finally I know nothing about Utility Racing but I think it sounds awesome and gotta try to watch it sometime.

The McGrath Carmichael thing is a good comparison surprised I did'nt think of that. I think JM was about 6 Supercross titles followed by almost that my RC. Chad Reed won in 04 but RC was injured. Bubba could certainly make a run if he could stay on the pegs. He is faster then all of them when upright.
I have several WPSA's in the DVR if you want me to put them to tape for you. DVD Recorder coming soon!!!

WOW! You couldn't have said it any better!! ....but I will. You are correct, Weck! When I finished the Coal Valley race 4 places in front of you, I did only have 3 lugnuts holding on my left rear wheel and those three were loose! ;D When you fly like this, the only ones you need are in your britches!! Maybe you can purchase some on Ebay or something. No but most of its Nuts are LOOSE!!!!!!!

Thanks for the offer with the tapes Weck, but my wife stuck a fork in the VCR and its done (no joke) With VCR's being old news I never bought another one so I'd have no way to watch them.
So far as smack talk Its tough to keep it out of the equation when your talking competative sports.
And thanks Fastcat for the "old bald fat arse" comment. I tried my hardest, but a mental image popped into my head and now I do believe I am traumatized!
As far as the 07 racing season I'm gonna try to make a couple of the races. I am not going to talk myself up or talk about my mad skillz. I'm going in with zero expectations that way theres no way to be disappointed. And its not the 2 hour thing that intimidates me, its the mobs of riders trying to run my arse over that would make it hard for me to focus.
