I have never been. Last I heard though, it was closed. And I heard that over a year ago.

It is closed to the public and has been for a couple years. There was a land dispute out there and the open access was closed down. The 4x4 truck club Midwest Mudslingers run by Joe Fisher still has access to it. I left a couple voice mails for Joe last winter about ATV riding there but my calls were not returned.
That is all I know at this point. It was a cool place to ride though. A couple dangerous spots but otherwise OK.

I rode there a long time ago and hated it. Alot of trails that just abrubtly ended, lots of huge truck ruts and appropriatly enough there were smashed bricks everywhere. It made for rough slow paced riding on my 3-wheeler. I was so unimpressed that I never had any interest in going back, and just recently heard it was closed, but thats just my opinion! It's too bad people cant try it for themselves anymore.

We went there about a year ago to see if it was open and what not but they told us it was closed. I don't remember how to get there though, sorry. That'd be cool if it did re-open though. Did they say they went there and rode? Go to Midwest Mudslingers.com Joe fischer was the guy that used to run it I think, but not sure. www.midwestmudslingers@yahoo.com, Here's their e-mail, maybe you can get some more info.

The guy at an oil change shop I use is in the Midwest Mudslingers 4x4 club. They have bought about 86 acres near Alexis IL and it is available for primitive camping and riding, but I not sure if you have to be a member or location etc...
The one thing he felt was for sure was that there is no ATV riding at the original Brickyard area West of Viola off of hwy 17. There was a land owner dispute and the midwest group lost access to the land. You can write this one off for the near future.

I spoke w/ "Fisch" late last week. The 86 acres is "leased" ground and he stressed that the riding area is for MEMBERS ONLY! There are mostly 4x4's on the member list currently, but he said the ground is great for ATV riding. (Fisch rides a Brute-Force). I need to talk with him again to find out more, perhaps before Thursday's meeting... I will try to negotiate a club riding day/weekend, but the ultimate decision will lay with the landowners. Family Memberships cost only $100/yr.
