This thread had a typo. The date should have been 9/13-20 (September), NOT 8/13-20. I have updated the subject of all posts in this thread. Sorry for the trouble for those of you who have already asked for these days off.

I'll have to change my vacation then, but it's so far out it shouldn't matter. The 13th is the first planned travel day with this trip correct? Shouldn't need any time from the week before.

So with thousands of acres to ride freely WHEREEVER we want to go, WHY would we go when we have to have a guide, and when thounsands of people will be there?

If you go to the ATVjam.com website it talks it has links to the guided rides. The advantage to going on a guided ride is that if you get stranded or broken down you have people with you that know the area and can get you help faster. I found out a couple of times in WV that having your ride break down out there is no fun if you don't know where you are at or where to go.

Going on the guided rides is optional. You do not have to even register with the Jamboree if you do not want to.

This was sent to us from Dave Duffy, He has been out to Utah multiple times and this is what his schedule is going to be this year. You can go with this plan or make you own.
"I’ll be out of the country and so will miss our next meeting, but I wanted to report on the Utah trip. I just sat down with my two sons-in-law and a couple other friends, and we decided on our day rides for the Jamboree. These are the ones that appealed to our little group yesterday, but there aren’t any bad rides, so going by the ride description should help anyone find the best rides for them. Monday: Ride #5 Tuesday: Ride #27 Wednesday: Ride #22 Thursday: Rides #67 & #48 (if we’re up to it) Friday: Ride #45 My advice to anyone who is thinking of going is to make your decision soon while the rides are available, because they can fill up fast, so you may not be able to get your first choices. If you later decide not to go, you can get most of your money refunded. We are leaving on September 11, and staying somewhere near Denver that night. The next day (Friday) we are driving to Moab, arriving mid-afternoon. We will be hitting an easy trail, or sightseeing at Arches National Park. While in Moab we are staying at the Rustic Inn for one night. Rooms at Moab are expensive and fill up fast. An alternative would be to stay about 50 miles away in Green River, where rooms are quite a bit cheaper and more plentiful. On Saturday we will try to hit three or four trails at Moab, and then move on to Richfield where we will spend the next week (September 13-20) at Nights Inn Budget Host. There are lots of motels in town; this one isn’t anything special, but cheaper than most. Another one is the Appletree Inn. My advice is to get your room locked in while more choices are available. We will be leaving for home on Saturday morning, stopping somewhere for the night, and be back late Sunday afternoon. Anyone who wants to tag along is welcome. It will be a neat adventure. Dave"

So I signed up for the ride today. I am planning on going out to UT on the same schedule as Dave and the group that he is riding with (leaving on the 11th). On Monday I will be doing ride #5 The Challenge(I think this is full for this day now) On Tuesday I am going to go on Ride #1 The Mountain Man Marathon (4 days riding with 3 nights camping). Looking forward to the trip.

What a great time. The trails and views out there are amazing. Everytime you turned a corner there was another beautiful view. The distance you can see when you are at that elevation is just awesome. The four day ride I went on was one of the best experiences I have had. We traveled 350 miles in 4 days. Almost all of the time was on slow rocky trails. Two of the days we traveled over 100 miles. I really didn't understand what the term free range cattle meant before we got out there either. It was wild turning a corner then all of the sudden just a dozen cattle standing near or sometime on the trail. A huge thanks needs to go out to Dave Duffe for taking the time to get in touch with some of the locals and setting up guided rides in Moab on Saturday and Richfield on Sunday before the Jamboree. Over the course of the week I think I put about 500 miles on my ATV. I would highly recommend going back to this Jamboree, they really know how to do it right out there.
