Yesterday Don Gerald was injured riding his quad at Finger Lakes State Park near Columbia, Mo. He has a few broken bones, but nothing life threatening. He is currently at University Hospital in Columbia until he can get transferred back to the Quad Cities. His wife Sue will be there with him.
He has a fractured pelvis, sacrum, wrist and rib. He has a long road ahead of him. He is in good spirits, but upset at himself.
Please keep your thoughts with him during this difficult time.

UPDATE: Don had surgery to have a couple screws put into his pelvis. He is able to sit on edge of the bed, but not able to put any weight on the left leg for 4 weeks. His pain is decreasing now that the screws are holding him together.

UPDATE: Don is sitting in a chair. They plan to leave Columbia tomorrow. Genesis West is expecting him in Davenport. Rehab there at least 3 weeks, then home.
