This is not the easiest thing to do but posting pics in a thread can be very cool and helpful to your point. This can be very useful in the classifieds or if you have a tech question that is better explained with a couple of pictures. You can host a pic anywhere on the web, including our club website. To post a pic all you do is click the icon to "insert image" above the text area of your message. It will automatically drop this text into the body of the message. Iimg]URL[/imgI I can't remeber what URL stands for (Universal Resource Locator???) but it is basically a web address. You have to specify where on the web this forum can pull in the image that you want to display. For example the address of the picture below is www.tworiversatv.com/forum/testpic.jpgIf someone wants help with this reply back to this forum. Later Weck

I don't know much about d-cams but I would say what ever makes the file around 80kb in size. If you right click on the pics above and select properties you will see they are around 180k which is still a little big for use in a forum. The newer 3 meg and higher camera's take awesome pics but the file size is just huge and would be a pain in the rear for a modem user to look at. Most of the Quad of the Month pics are around 80k in size. If you want more help post back here or PM me.

Thanks Weck. I think that a camera setting of <1 mega-pixels should be about right. I will double check the pics that we already have stored.

UPDATE- I am starting to store select pictures from my files to my free album that I started on www.photobucket.com. As I am very much in the learning stage with computers, this website seems easy to use. Time will tell!

Microsoft XP users can use the "XP PowerToys Image Resizer" to make the original or a copy of a digital photo different sizes. I just took a 2.5 megabyte picture and resized it to 50 Kb for web usage. Here is the URL for Image Resizer: www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspxDownload & install imageresizer.exe. I'm not sure what other Operating Systems it works on besides XP. It will not on 2003 Server. --dennis
