On Sun Oct 23 there is an event called "McGrath Dirt Days" at the lakeview OHV. Has anyone ever gone to this? Does anyone know anymore information about it? Thanks

First I've heard of it. Did a google search and this is what I found. [glow=red,2,300] www.lakeviewohv.com/[/glow] "Oct 23rd 10am-3pm McGrath is having their annual Dirt Day's event at the park come test drive that new vehicle you have been drooling over! " Based on the photos on this page, Jon, you will probably be going. [glow=red,2,300] www.lakeviewohv.com/Club_Events.html[/glow]

Yeah, I was thinking about heading up there and checking it out. Depends on how late I am out at the Halloween ride.

I am still planning on going up to Solon on sunday. Are you going to be at Hansens tomorrow muddawg? I think I may call the McGrath powersports tomorrow and see if I can get any more information.

I called and talked to someone at McGrath powersports this morning. It sounds like the event goes from 11am to 2pm they have a mud pit set up and also do a poker run. They also will be setting up a tent with food. He said they would try to have at least one quad from each of the manufactures that they sell. Looking at their site it looks like they sell Kawasaki, honda, polaris, and yamaha.

Henry and I went up to Solon for the McGrath Dirt Day. It was a blast. When we got up there we found out that they were not going to do a mud race so I was a bit dissappointed about that. They did have a poker run and had free food and drinks for everyone up there. They also had a bunch of things they were giving away. Henry grabbed a Warn winch stocking cap and I picked up a kawasaki key chain. They had some youth gloves, t-shirts and little MAG lights as well. They ended up having a few different quads that you could take out and test ride with them along the perimeter trail.
The quads I can remeber were: 2012 Brute Force 750 w/eps (Electronic Power Steering) 2 used Grizzly 700 w/ EPS (Not sure what the difference is but one was a special edition) New Grizzly 450 w/ EPS New Honda 500 w/ EPS 2011 Polaris 850 xp w/EPS I think they may have had a sport quad or two but I am not sure there were like 10 bikes total.
Henry test drove the Grizzly 450 and I tesed the Kawasaki 750. The ride was really dusty. It was nice to be able to take a bike out on the trails and not just in the dealer parking lot to test ride. That new Brute was a fun bike to ride. It would have been nice to take it though the technical trails to test out the power steering a little more, but I can understand them being hesitant with some of these bikes being brand new.
We also did the poker run. We didn't get any good cards but before we left they said that there would be a prize for whoever came back the muddiest. Guess who won that? They gave me a Warn winch fleece blanket for that.
Probably one of the highlights for me was that they had a Polaris rep there that was letting people test ride a RZR 4 seater. This thing was brand new and they just handed you the key and said have fun. So I hopped in the driver seat and Henry got in the passenger seat and we took off. I went all over the park and that thing was fun. Because it was so long you didn't even notice the bumps as you were driving. I got it up to about 50mph on the main trail and it was like riding in your car. It went up hills and handled well on the trails. There were some trails that I didn't even try because it would have been to tight to get through without scrapping up the sides. I was really suprised at how much I liked driving it. This model didn't have the power steering but I didn't have any problems with turning the wheel.
Overall it was a great day and I will definately make it up there again next year.
