Amy Shipman or DarthATVidious is very sick. She has been in Illini icu for two days and has now been transfered to Peoria OSF hospital. Amy will be here for a while and can not have visitors. She is on a vent tube and will be sedated for several days. Please pray for her. Dr's don't know what exactly is wrong but think there is a few different things.
Please pray for her.

Pray not only for Amy’s health, but also for knowledge and wisdom for the Doctors.

Hello everyone! Thanks for the well wishes and prayers! I am out of the fourth hospital and finally home. I am tired and weak, but feeling better every day. It's going be a slow recovery.
Official diagnosis is Ehrlichiosis. It is a strain of the Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. Evidently I was bitten by an infected tick while on our club ride at St. Joe’s State Park. I got sick exactly one week after we got back. They finally figured it out in Peoria. It is some bad stuff! Very rare however, so no one should freak out.
I am not out of the woods yet. I have Pneumonia and my kidneys are only functioning at 13%. I go to a couple of doctors tomorrow and will hopefully find out more. In the meantime, I have a fever again and that is how this whole thing started. Yeah, I think this is going to be a slow process, but I cannot tell you all how happy I am to be home.
On a positive note, the Doctor in Peoria (Infectious Disease Specialist) says that I am probably immune to this again. That is good to know, because I can’t wait to go riding again! Unfortunately I will have to wait a little…..
Miss you all!
Amy (Darth ATVidious)

I'm so glad your feeling better.I hate BUGS! I guess next year, maybe at the end of each day, we should check each other for ticks! I've heard that ticks try and get on your head so they can hide down at the roots of your hair. Luckily for me I don't have enough hair to sustain life.

I think the Dr.s thought she might die too. It was very scarey. Luckily, she doesn't remember most of it, and I hope eventually we'll forget most of it too. The worst was not knowing WHAT was making her so sick - it took almost 2 weeks to figure out what it was. She's doing great now, and just trying to get her "energy" back. She can't wait to start riding again!!
