I was wondering the same thing. I just bought a 93 Ski-Doo Formula Plus 600 that will be in my garage tonight. Needs some tune-up work and a little cosmetic work but otherwise should be a runner. I know Boogie Bill A. has one. I have several buddies that are loading up on cheap old sleds to try out this year. It looks just like this...

SWEET sled, those Rotax motors are bullet proof! Does it have the R.A.V.E. valve motor? I bought a 95 Skidoo 600 formula 3 at the end of last season after the snow was gone. I haven't got to try it out yet, so I'm excited for some snow! I live just off the hennipin canal in colona, the canal is allot of fun to ride along, especially just after a fresh snow and all the trees have a fresh blanket of white. We'll have to get together sometime. We went from my house to Sheffield and back last year, it was a blast, and we could have went farther but it was getting late so we turned back at Sheffield. There's a bar to stop at in Atkinson.

Here is what the cat drug home last night. After looking at it more closely I think this thing is going to be pretty solid. I have some wiring to fix and I have to figure out what to do with the air intake. The rubber boots between the carbs and the airbox were torn and taped up by the previous owner so I have a thread going on snowmobileforums.com now about whether to replace the boots and stock filter or put a couple of open UNI foam filters on and jet up the carbs a size or two. How does that track tread look to you? The treads look a little thin but its definitly not getting replaced this year. There are some picks in it. I may add some more. It has 2500 miles on it which is kinda low compared to others I have seen when shopping around. This baby is heavy so I am going to make some stands like yours tonight. Bring on the SNOW!!!

I've been working a little on the sled. Its looking much better than these pictures. Motor starts and runs awesome, chassis has a few new parts and is all greased up so it could snow tonight and I am ready. I just ordered a spare belt and a few other things too.
I have seen on a couple snowmobile forums that there was a freak snow storm in north central iowa last week that dropped about 7-10 in three counties. If there is no snow here in the next 3 weeks this baby's goin north till we find snow. I have never bought anything that I had to wait to use and I suck at waiting. This is almost as bad as my venture into nitro R/C boating but that's another story all together...
I'll post some updated pics in the next few days.

Almost, It could go right now but I have just a few minor tweaks to finish in the next night or two. I am taking a little test ride around west davenport Saturday morning and then I am headed somewhere northbound Sunday late morning. A friend of mine and I are gonna find the most snowfall area (Dubuque, waterloo, SW WI) and go there.
Let me know if you want in. I am a complete snow virgin so I can guarantee something funny, stupid or both will happen. You might want to be there to enjoy it. hahaha

They act kinda like 3-wheelers, a little tippy if ya take a corner too fast. Plus they only have back brakes, so you know what that means. If we get some good snow I'll get a hold of ya, I can't wait to try mine out either.

On Sunday, I rode from West Kimberly Rd and I-280 to Park View and back. Probably 20 miles round trip. Pretty bumpy in a few spots through the fields but otherwise a pretty good ride. I think I will start in Eldridge next time and go North or West from Kimberly Rd. Sled ran great just a couple things to go over this week. I really need some new carbides though. I definitly understand the attraction with riding in Wisconsin after ditch riding in IA just once.

Ya it is ready, again. I am at about 200 for the year. I will have both the quad and the sled at the Credit Island event. Wish there was some snow in the forecast. I am working on a possible mini-trip up north Saturday 1/22 if you are interested. Might be an over-nighter. Don't have a location yet just a date. I need to check trail conditions closer to that weekend and pick a place from there. There is a Galesburg IL Poker Run that day but conditions are not good as of right now.
