Well ya'll got your lights hooked up and ready to go? All I have left to do is wire up my lights, change out my rear tires thursday night and do the once over on everything, again. Who all from your neck of the woods is coming out?

All in all I think we put in a decent day. We had some internal team issues the night before the race and Robfast decided to not race. We recruited Brandon Gibler the next morning during the kids race, he races B class in the IA series and is fast, but is new to the whole endurance team race thing. But, he only came up so his kid could race and didn't bring his quad, so we rounded up some gear for him and he rode John's and mine all day and he has only rode a Honda so it took awhile for him to get used to our machines and he was nervous about crashing one of them too. He actually only rode John's one lap and didn't like it so he rode mine during his sessions. Watson was going to run with us, but we would've been protested in the B class and didn't want to run Pro Am.
John bent a supposedly unbendable axle and he pitted and we changed the tire just to make sure it wasn't just a rim issue. His next session out his battery went dead and had to be towed in, in which they docked us a lap for the tow and lost the current lap. So we rode my KAWI for about the last 5 or so hrs of the race. I guess my problem before was the fuel pump because it ran great the whole rest of the race.
I drilled a tree about in 3rd gear in a whooped out down hill section and got a bad bounce on the last whoop. I came down on the bars pretty hard and made it back to the pits so I could start puking, too bad I had nothing to puke up because the dry heaves suck. Robfast made me a turkey sandwich and get some fluids in me and then walked up to scoring to tell Andy about some track cutting that I witnessed. I then stopped next to the Team Yamaha trailer and proceeded to eject the turkey sandwich. I guess my stomach doesn't like Yamaha either, haha. The track got really brutal and beat up, but was still fun. If it wasn't a tore up section then it was really fast and alot of fun.
I went out for the last leg and finally had a problem with my quad about a half mile from the finish line on the last lap. I stalled it and the battery was dead and couldn't pop start it since I run a Rekluse, that was a huge bummer for me because the kawi ran great and really came through for us when we needed it.

Ya your KFX held together great and it seems like your headaches are behind you with this quad. At least the starting issue was a drained battery.
The open Fly team did good placing 5 in the C class. I got a terrible start off the line. My quad has been starting great but I think I was kicking it over just to hard or something. So by the time it lit on the 7th kick most of the quads were gone. I passed about 20 quads in the first half lap while they were playing nice waiting for each other to get threw some tight spots. I did not do the challenge area on the first lap but did every lap after that to try and save some time but I heard everyone was going through it. I did 4 laps then passed my quad on to Dave, we were in 4th place out of 9 C teams. He did 3 laps and was able to hold onto 5th. Randy then rode and stayed in the same order. We rode my Honda a little over 4 hours then brought out Randy's new KFX. I brought it out of the impound lot and did oe lap before handing it off. The power is good on it for a stock bike but there's lots of things I would change before being able to ride it fast. It ran strong until about 9:00PM when Randy parked it and brought out Dave's new Polaris 450. He did a lap and handed it off to me. I did a couple laps and felt great on it. We were just a couple minutes behind 4th still riding 5th. I felt really good on the MXR and the lighting was good. I started catching other riders that were slowing down in the dark. At the beginning of the 3rd lap I thought I would do 4 instead of the planned 3. The track had been getting more and more whooped out on all the hills, up and down. I was charging up some steep hill on the Polaris and something happened that sent me into a tree. I think the original trail went to the right of this tree but there had been a lot of new lines opening all day and there was a big opening to the left too. All I can guess is that the front tires lifted and I lost steering and wham into a big'n. I bounced off the tree still on the quad and barrel rolled 3/4 or the way over. I was ok but could'nt believe that just happened. I pushed the quad back on its tires and started right up. I could not get up the hill and had to get towed / pushed out. Somehow the valve stem was damaged and made the right rear go flat. Looks like I will buying some new front plastic and fixing the Rath bumper. So I get towed back to the pits and bring out Randy's KFX cause my bike had no lights and was still ot of breath from being run all day. I came out of the impound to start a new lap and just looped in behind our trailers and into our pit. Randy was'nt expecting me but got ready quick and headed out about 10:30. He rode the last hour and somehow dropped to 7th but then finished in 5th officially so whatever you did, good job!! I was pretty well spent after my third time out and Dave was out with dehidration and flu like symptoms....:-)
The whole event was fantastic. The track layout was great and held up as well as can be expected. Great weekend, but you'll have to take my word for it cause I got no pictures. Radcliff Racing was there to help us pit and watch. They might have some good pics to share.
Looking forward to 2010!!

Oh Ya, one more thing.
Dave and I teamed up with Al and Luke Upah to do the Milwaukee Tools Pit Stop challenge. There were about 8 4 man teams entered. You have one rider and three guys that do their thing. The rider starts 20 feet behind the tire changing area. When they say go the rider starts the quad and pulls into the EZ-Up tent. The rider has to change googles and gloves while two guys change the front and back wheels using Milwaukee 18V impacts. So I was the guy that grabbed the right side nerf bar and lifted it up for the tire change. I had the spare goggles on my head with spare gloves ready too. Once the rider is ready and the wheels and changed the rider restarts the quad and pulls into the stop area 20 feet ahead. That stops the clock. We did a 47 second change then a 40 second change that won it by 2 seconds. Our team won the two impact guns used in the competition. We gave one to the Upah guys and Dave and I have the other. I should be able to find some pics of this online somewhere.

I've got more pics to add to that when I get around to it. I am trying to catch up with sleep from my trip to Michigan last week and get the kawi ready to race the OXC in Trenton, MO this weekend. Gonna see if I can't throw a monkey wrench in their points chase this weekend, haha. Thanks for the acknowledgment there Weck.

2nd from the left looks "Heavy Duty" to me too. That's awesome that you guys did so well! Wish I was that cool to be on a huge website like that.
